Each of the five chapters offers brief illustrative texts, drawings and maps. Plenty of blank pages allow full freedom of graphic expression to the artist. The first four chapters propose sketching tours around different areas of the city, from the Gothic area to the Eixample, with its Art Nouveau buildings, as well as the Barcelona of the Olympic Games and beyond. In each area small gardens, pretty hidden squares and unique architectural details are disclosed to the reader. The last section suggests three irresistible routes outside the city: the wild beauty of the Costa Brava beaches; deliciously artistic and cosy Sitges - just a few miles away from the big city - and the stunning capital of northern Catalonia, Girona, with its fresh patios and stepped streets. &a
